about.
Piet Heijn Schoute (1979) is a visual artist living and working in Amsterdam, who has been creating works of art since 2021. His art is highly intuitive and often draws inspiration from the medium he works in, from nature, as well as artists such as Cy Twombly, Julian Schnabel, Willem de Kooning and Antoni Tapiès.
Piet Heijn’s paintings are characterized by the use of color and texture using a wide range of techniques and material. He describes his work as both dynamic and meditative.
Born into a family with a deep appreciation for art, design, music and love for the natural environment, Piet Heijn was exposed to the world of art & design from a young age. From early on he was drawn to Danish design, the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and the paintings of Juan Miro & Marc Rothko.
Through his art, Piet Heijn seeks to create freedom of expression and create a sense of connection and harmony with the often complex and outlined world around us. He invites viewers to explore and connect with the artwork and the arrangement of spaces, surfaces, shapes and colors.
